As I write my blog posts, I've generally referred to 'we' and that 'we' has pretty much always been me and Lucy, one of my oldest and closest friends ever. But, the time has come for Luce to return to the UK. So, cue the biggest sulk of all time!
We've done and seen so much over the last 7 months, it's been an amazing adventure and I'm glad I had a close friend to see it all with.
A lot is said about the joys of travelling alone and I'm soon to experience that, but over the last 7 months I've really appreciated being with a friend for lots of reasons; you know that person isn't a weirdo (most of the time!); decision making is often easier; plans still get made if one of you isn't feeling up to it; you can have a bad day without being judged; when your cash card gets stolen/ cancelled you know you won't go hungry or be sleeping on the streets, there's always someone to watch your bags when you're at the bus station; you have someone to share and cook food with and most of all there's always someone to have a giggle with! I'm a huge advocate!
I'm going to miss Luce a lot and I'm sad that part of the journey is over. It's going to take me some time to get used to making plans and decisions on my own again (seriously, I can't even decide what to eat on my own!) ... but I'm looking forward to a new type of adventure, where I only have myself to rely on!
