Peru ... again!

The travelling loop that I have been on was closed when we returned to Peru to visit the heralded Machu Picchu!  When I arrived at the end of October the weather wasn't really great for taking it on, so we always knew that we would return.

We arrived in Cuzco after our Jungle trip and started reviewing the options and the best way to see this must see destination.  Although we weren't in much hurry so we chilled out for a couple of days exploring the city.

The Cuzco Flag ... not gay pride!

Sacsayhuaman - pronounced, Sexy Woman ... easy to remember!

Cuzco is one of the most obviously touristy places that I have been to on this trip so far; there's Starbucks, KFC and a McDonalds and all the independent vendors leap on you to try and sell you things.  I was chased round a plaza by a guy determined to get me to the chocolate museum.  Apart from that it is a lovely place with beautiful plazas and cobbled streets which you can wonder round for hours. Also, being surrounded by the inca history starts to build the anticipation for seeing visiting Machu Picchu.
